Raleigh, NC - The North Carolina Sheriff Police Alliance, representing law enforcement officers throughout North Carolina, today endorsed Bev Perdue for Governor. “Bev Perdue is not only good for law enforcement, she’s good for North Carolina,” said Andy Miller, NCSPA President and Durham Police Department Lieutenant. “I’m honored to have the support of people who risk everything to protect us,” said Perdue. “North Carolina’s law enforcement officers are among the best in the country, and they earn our support every day.” In addition to the NCSPA, Perdue has also received the endorsement of the NC Troopers Association, given her both of the major law enforcement organizations endorsements announced so far. http://bevperdue.com/ http://bevperdue.com/
, Staff Writers The North Carolina Sheriff Police Alliance has endorsed Freda Black in the election for Durham County district attorney. It has also announced backing for incumbents Ellen Reckhow, Becky Heron and Michael Page in the contest for the Durham County Board of Commissioners, along with newcomers Doug Wright and Josh Parker. For the state House, the alliance endorsed incumbents H.M. “Mickey” Michaux, Paul Luebke and Larry Hall, who are unopposed; for state Senate District 20, it backed incumbent Floyd McKissick Jr. “These candidates are familiar with the daunting issues of recruitment and retention within the law enforcement profession today,” the group said in a prepared release.
